After Being Inactivated, Nafa Urbach's Salary and Allowances from the Indonesian House of Representatives Are Proposed to Be Stopped

The inactive status held by Nafa Urbach is currently being processed by the NasDem Party Court. This internal body will issue a final decision that is binding and cannot be contested. This decision will serve as the basis for the party to determine the next steps regarding the membership status in question.

The Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim, also confirmed that the NasDem DPP has sent an official letter to the DPR regarding the freezing of all parliamentary facilities belonging to Nafa Urbach and Ahmad Sahroni. The letter is recorded under number 168 and is addressed to the NasDem faction in the DPR.

"The DPP has sent a letter to the faction in the DPR through letter number 168 to freeze all facilities for these two individuals, including salaries, allowances, and other facilities associated with them in their parliamentary status," asserted Hermawi.

Nafa Urbach was deactivated from her membership in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) after her statement sparked controversy in the public. She complained about frequently getting stuck in traffic and expressed support for housing allowances for council members, which then triggered widespread criticism in society.

Meanwhile, her colleague, Ahmad Sahroni, also experienced deactivation after making a statement that was deemed to belittle public aspirations calling for the dissolution of the DPR. Both are now not actively performing their legislative functions.

However, in the legislation, there is no official term 'inactive' for DPR members. In both the MD3 Law and the Rules of Procedure of the DPR RI, such a status is not specifically regulated. Even in the DPR RI Regulation Number 1 of 2020 concerning the Rules of Procedure, members who are temporarily dismissed still have financial rights.

Nafa herself has not yet commented on the proposal to stop her salary and benefits as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). It is known that her social media account has also disappeared from circulation.
