After Leaving Prison, Lidya Pratiwi Decided to Change Her Name to Maria Eleanor, Here's the Reason

A few months later, precisely in early December 2013, Lidya filed a name change at the West Jakarta District Court. On December 25, her name officially changed to Maria Eleanor.

"So it was submitted in early December 2013, there was a request on behalf of Lidya Pratiwi to change her name to Maria Eleanor. The decision was made on December 25," said Eko Aryanto, the Public Relations Officer of the West Jakarta District Court when contacted by KapanLagi.com on Wednesday (10/6/2020).

The process of changing the name turned out to be quite fast. In just two weeks, Maria Eleanor's name was changed to Lidya, who was 26 years old at the time.

"The name change process was not long, only two hearings. The important thing is to have reasons, witnesses, and supporting documents," added Eko.

Furthermore, Eko Aryanto explained the reasons for the name change. However, for more detailed information, such as wanting to get rid of bad luck or other reasons discussed during the trial, he is not aware because that information was presented during the court proceedings.

"The reason is that she no longer felt suitable with her old name, that's what she said. As for other details, it happened in court, and I don't understand. But what is written is that she no longer felt suitable with her old name," he concluded.
