Ahmad Sahroni and Adam Deni have forgiven each other, Chief Judge: The Legal Case Still Applies

A unique moment occurred during the trial when the chief judge asked Sahroni and Adam Deni to forgive each other and shake hands.

But before that, the trial was held at the North Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (6/4). In the trial, Ahmad Sahroni, who is also the complainant and victim, explained about Adam Deni's Instagram post that was deemed to threaten him.

1. Regarding Apology Request

The post was related to the purchase of a bike under Sahroni's name and the narration that he would be reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). After Sahroni was examined as a witness, Chief Judge Rudi Kindarto mentioned their apologies that were made through a video.

"Adam Deni has apologized through a video, and you have also apologized through a video, but (Ahmad Sahroni said) the legal case still applies. Is that true?" said Rudi Kindarto.

"Yes," answered Ahmad Sahroni.

2. Forgiving Each Other

The judge asked Adam Deni and Sahroni to shake hands again. However, the judge stated that forgiveness does not erase the punishment, but the relationship remains.

"What I mean is, since we meet here, do you want to forgive each other? The punishment still stands. Forgiveness does not erase the punishment, but the relationship remains," said the judge.

"We have forgiven each other, Your Honor," answered Sahroni and Adam Deni.

"Have you forgiven each other? Do you want to apologize directly?" asked the judge.

"Yes," they said.

3. No Negative Sentiment Allowed

Adam Deni then approached Sahroni and shook hands. Followed by Ni Made Dwita Anggari, who also shook hands with Sahroni.

This handshake moment received applause from everyone present in the room. The judge then reminded them that after forgiving each other, there should be no more negative statements or actions from both parties related to the case.

"What's the point of forgiveness if the mistake is always remembered. So, after this forgiveness, remember, there should be no more negative things between the two of you related to this case," concluded the Chief Judge.
