Aldi Taher Shares Ramadan with Family, Teaches Children to Read Quran from an Early Age as Preparation for the Hereafter

In the midst of his busy schedule, Aldi Taher still tries to spend Ramadan with his family. He often travels out of town for work, while his children are looked after by his wife, Salsabilih.

"Alhamdulillah, the blessings from Allah are appreciated. I leave to sing out of town, and the older sibling takes care of them. Sometimes the older sibling asks their dad not to work first. But dad works to buy milk for the little one," said Aldi Taher when met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta recently.

Salsabilih revealed that their children are very close to their father. The first child even always looks for Aldi at all times, especially before going to bed.

"Very close. When dad comes home from work, they immediately play together, eat together, and sleep together. The daughter is also very attached to her father. When waking up, she looks for dad, and when going to sleep, she looks for dad," said Salsabilih.

In addition to maintaining closeness, Aldi also teaches his children to read the Quran. He believes that religious knowledge should be taught from an early age as a foundation for life.

"Indeed, the first knowledge or lesson that must be introduced to children is certainly religion. Surah Al-Fatihah is the beginning of all surahs," said Aldi Taher.

"Thank God, my older sibling is almost 10 years old and the second one is 7 years old, they have completed fasting fully. The third one is just learning, so I will explain to them what fasting is like," added Salsabilih.

Aldi and his family also have a Ramadan tradition, one of which is to forgive each other. They go through this holy month with gratitude and hope that their fasting goes smoothly.

"Of course, asking for forgiveness and forgiving each other. Our intention for fasting is bismillah, may our fasting go smoothly," said Aldi Taher.
