Always Carrying Items Belonging to Late Mother and Sister, Dewi Irawan: I Wore Her T-Shirt During the Phone Scene

During the process of making this film, there were many unique stories that happened, as stated by one of the cast members, Dewi Irawan. In one scene, Dewi said that she wore her late sister's t-shirt, Ria Irawan.

"I wore Ria's t-shirt during the phone scene," said Dewi Irawan when met at CGB Grand Indonesia, Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Monday afternoon (17/2).

While sobbing, Dewi Irawan remembered the time when her late sister was still alive. She recounted how Syuting always invited Ria Irawan to accompany her during shoots, and after her sister passed away, she always brought belongings of the deceased during shoots.

"I used to call Ria Jendul, I just said, 'Dul, you're shooting with me now'. That's why I always bring it when shooting. Whether it's Mother's headscarf or Ria's," said Dewi Irawan.

"For example, if I'm involved in production, I also inform the wardrobe team. 'Mom, this was worn by Ria in Mecca, I'm coming, the title is'. Coincidentally, I was wearing it during the shoot," she continued.

2. Exactly 2 Years Since the Passing of Mother

In addition, Dewi Irawan also mentioned that today, Monday, January 17, 2022, coincides with the passing of Ade Irawan, Dewi Irawan's mother. Initially, Dewi was reluctant to participate in the promotional activities for her latest film. However, remembering her mother and sister, Dewi became enthusiastic about joining the event.

"Yes, it happens to be January 17, 2022, exactly two years since my mother passed away. At first, I said I didn't want to, but because I remember my mother and sister," she said.

Dewi Irawan is deeply saddened after the departure of Ria Irawan, and now her mother has also passed away. Ade Irawan passed away at the age of 82 on Friday, (17/1). It is known that this senior artist passed away due to degenerative illness that caused problems in her heart and lungs.

Throughout her life, Ade Irawan was a hardworking individual. This was truly seen by Dewi Irawan as her child. Especially after the departure of her husband, Ade did not remarry and raised her children on her own.

"She is just like Ria, meaning that even when she was sick, she didn't make the people who came to see her sad. Since my father was gone, my mother became a single parent who worked hard and was not ashamed to ask for roles from producers because she knew she had to earn money to raise her children," said Dewi Irawan after the funeral of Ade Irawan, at TPU Tanah Kusir, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Saturday (18/1).

4. Never Complain

Even every day, Ade never complains. She goes through shooting every day, even from morning till morning. That's how Dewi remembers her beloved mother.

"When she comes home from shooting from morning till morning, she never complains, she even enjoys it," she added.

5. Condition Continues to Decline

Ade Irawan's health condition has been declining lately, especially since Ria Irawan's departure. Despite that, Ade feels peaceful, because she could see Ria Irawan's last moments before she passed away.

"She even told me, 'yesterday mom was happily shooting all the time', yes since Ria is no longer here, she has experienced a decline in health. And during the seven days of mourning for Ria, I saw mom always saying she's satisfied seeing Ria, during Ria's last moments she was also in a good state, smiling, and even helping to bathe the body, mom is satisfied," Ade Irawan concluded.
