"No, I don't want to (marry a man who hasn't moved on). Right? I'm still young, looking for someone else, right?" said Amanda Manopo at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Thursday (1/9/2025).
Arman's character in the film is depicted as a man who is still trapped in the memories of his late wife, Leila (Revalina S. Temat). This condition makes Anika, played by Amanda, have to be patient in facing their marriage. "If I were in Anika's position? Why would I want to be with Arman? I already have many problems, why would I seek more problems? No, I don't want to. Right?," said Amanda Manopo.
Billy Syahputra's ex-girlfriend believes that Anika's decision to endure in the marriage is not easy. As a wife, Anika continues to try to accept her husband's condition in order to achieve a harmonious family.
"But on the one hand, why can Anika be that patient with Arman? So here's the thing, that's the question Anika asks Mas Arman's mother, 'how is Mas Arman?' then her mother says 'he's fine' or 'just relax, if there's a problem, I'll talk to him'," Amanda revealed.
According to Amanda, although Anika and Arman's marriage seems forced, she has a strong belief in building a happy family. She wants to prove herself as a good and loving wife.
"And in the end, we were both actually forced to marry, but Anika has a principle that she wants to have a family that is sakinah, mawwadah, warahmah," Amanda explained.
The film 1 Imam 2 Makmum tells the story of the marriage journey between Anika (Amanda Manopo) and Arman (Fedi Nuril), a widower who cannot forget his late wife, Leila (Revalina S. Temat).
This situation makes Anika feel like an unrecognized wife, even though she works hard to gain her husband's love. This film depicts the dilemma of love and loyalty within a household. The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas starting January 16, 2025.
