Ammar Zoni Doesn't Believe Police Testimony About the Stun Device, Confident There is CCTV Evidence

The trial of Ammar Zoni regarding the alleged drug trafficking in the detention center was held again on Thursday (15/1/2026). This time, the agenda of the trial is to listen to the testimony of witnesses from the police presented by the Public Prosecutor.

Ammar Zoni directly questioned the truth of the statement made by a witness named Mario regarding the examination process conducted by the officers. In the trial, Ammar Zoni insisted that he saw officers bringing a stun device at the scene of the incident.

"You said earlier that you have been sworn in, you said you didn't bring a stun gun, but the reality is that you brought a stun gun. At the time of that video, you had a stun gun. There is evidence of that," said Ammar Zoni in the courtroom of the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday (15/1/2026).

Not only about the stun gun, Ammar also revealed acts of physical violence committed by certain police officers. He even specifically mentioned the initials and physical characteristics of the officers suspected of abusing other defendants at the location.

"That (witness Mario) did not commit abuse, but Mr. Y did abuse, Mr. Y with the bald head who is a bit tall," explained Ammar Zoni.

On the other hand, witness Mario remained steadfast in his statement and denied all accusations made by Ammar Zoni. He defended that the police did not use any methods of violence or bring a stun gun while carrying out their duties.

"Yes, I am honest, I am sure there was no abuse. There is no Mother (stun device). Absolutely none," Mario refuted.

Feeling that his statement was considered a lie, Ammar Zoni eventually pleaded with the judges to prove his words. He requested that the recordings from the surveillance camera or CCTV at the scene be opened and played in court. Ammar is confident that the recorded evidence will reveal facts that he believes have been covered up by the authorities.

"Later I will ask for the CCTV to be opened, Your Honor. Does the defendant feel abused? That's why we are asking for the CCTV. Because all of this, you said earlier, has already been sworn in," pleaded Ammar Zoni.
