Angela Ken's First Time in Jakarta for the Asian Television Awards, Falls in Love with Indonesian Food

"This is my first time in Indonesia and oh, over there. I am very happy and feel honored to be here. Of course, once again this is my first time in Indonesia and this is a great opportunity to fly here for the first time and show what Filipinos can do, of course," she said when met at the Emtek Studio, Daan Mogot, West Jakarta, Friday (27/11/2025) (translated into Indonesian).

Angela's presence on the ATA stage is proof that Southeast Asian talent has world-class quality. She feels proud to represent her country in front of an international audience alongside her fellow countrymen like Kier King. This spirit she brings to give her best performance for the fans present and those watching on screen.

“Yes, Filipinos are world-class talents. Yes, we are very excited to talk to you,” she added enthusiastically (translated from Bahasa Indonesia).

Besides preparing for the performance, the thing Angela enjoyed the most during her time in Jakarta was the atmosphere. She felt that Indonesia was very friendly and welcomed her warmly. Not only about the friendliness of the locals, but Angela also instantly liked the rich and unique flavors of the archipelago's cuisine.

“This is my first time here in Indonesia and I love it. I love it. Honestly. I love the food. I’m really excited every time I go to another country. I’m very excited when it comes to trying new foods, new dishes. The culture too,” Angela explained enthusiastically (translated from Bahasa Indonesia).

He continued his story about a brief but memorable experience during a few days in the Capital. For him, the weather and the warmth of the Indonesian people made him feel at home.

“Actually, this is only our second or third day. So I am still excited for the days to come. The weather is nice. And even the people. I want to praise the Indonesian people. You are very warm and very welcoming. So thank you,” he expressed at length (translated into Indonesian).

As the new year 2026 approaches, which is just days away, Angela also shared a little sneak peek about her career plans. She promised many new things for her fans, ranging from music to other achievements that she is still keeping secret.

“Oh, there are many things that supporters, Filipinos, or international fans can expect from me. But what I can say now without giving anything away is definitely new music, new stage and performances, new achievements. And I am also excited about what is to come in the journey of 2026 for sure,” concluded the musician who is under the management of Star Magic (translated to English).
