Ashanty Just Graduated with a Doctorate from UNAIR, Immediately Continuing to Pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Law for This Reason

A new academic achievement has just been completed by Ashanty, who officially graduated with a Doctorate in Human Resource Development (PSDM) from Airlangga University (UNAIR), Surabaya. The struggle to earn her Doctorate was filled with physical sacrifices. Ashanty even admitted that she had to undergo intensive medical treatment amidst her very tight exam schedule.

The wife of Anang Hermansyah feels very proud because she has proven her intellectual capacity without the aid of privilege as an artist. At the state university, Ashanty was treated just like an ordinary student who had to face strict professors. Her happiness is even more complete because this achievement is the most beautiful gift for the Hermansyah family.

"Masyaallah, honestly I am very proud of myself to have reached this point," said Ashanty after undergoing an examination in the Radio Dalam area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (22/4/2026).

Interestingly, despite already holding the highest degree in the academic world, Ashanty does not rest on her laurels. She is now registered to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Law. This unique step she took through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway, which allows her study period to be shorter compared to the normal college course structure.

Ashanty's decision to start studying law from scratch raised questions from her daughter, Aurel Hermansyah. However, Ashanty has a noble reason behind her dedication to pursuing knowledge. She wants to embody her social service with a strong and academically valid legal foundation.

"I took the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) path, so what should take 3.5 years can be completed in 2 years. Why law? Because honestly, I have a great interest in that field," she explained her study plans.

The main motivation of this singer born in 1984 is to help victims of violence against women and children. Ashanty feels that all this time she could only speak out through podcasts or social media without being able to provide direct legal assistance. With her legal knowledge, she hopes her help can be more concrete and systematic for marginalized communities.

"I really want to be able to speak out and help many people, especially regarding cases of violence against women and children," Ashanty asserted with full enthusiasm.

This social concern is rooted in her unpleasant childhood experiences. That past trauma then triggered her desire to protect and help others. Ashanty is also preparing for a grand graduation moment in June with her husband, Anang, who is graduating with a Master's degree, as well as Azriel Hermansyah, who has also completed his education.
