Ashanty Tightens Skincare Quality, Ensures Products Pass Lab Tests - Has Been in Business Since 2011

As a businesswoman in the beauty industry, the 41-year-old woman sees the positive side of the developing issues. "I see it as a positive side, people are becoming more aware now when using skincare," she continued.

Due to the numerous cases that have emerged, Ashanty is becoming more cautious in ensuring her products are safe. She emphasizes that every product sold not only comes from the factory but also goes through laboratory testing.

"Now we don't just accept from the factory, but we test in the laboratory to see if the results are the same," she explained.

When asked if she has any worries about her business in the future, Ashanty gave a firm answer. "If asked whether I'm afraid or not, as long as we sell correctly, using safe ingredients, what is there to be afraid of?" she said.

The skincare business is not new for Ashanty. Since 2011, she has been involved in this world, although it was temporarily halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, she is back with a more mature strategy. "In terms of ups and downs, I am grateful that there are no significant ups and downs, I mean there are definitely highs and lows," she said.

However, there was one moment that was the hardest for Ashanty during her 11 years in business. "The ups and downs when I had to stop skincare in 2020 because of the pandemic, in 2021 I stopped, it was really sad because one of the raw materials had to come from abroad, and at that time it couldn't come in because of the lockdown and so on, it was closed. Yeah, that was sad," she revealed.

Despite facing challenges, Ashanty remains enthusiastic about running her skincare business because it has been her passion for a long time. "But now skincare is indeed my passion, I had many dreams when I was little, to become a dermatologist, to become a beauty doctor, but I failed," she concluded.
