Asked about the Cost of Building a Basketball Club, Raffi Ahmad: Our Intention is Bigger Than the Money We Invest

RANS Cilegon FC is participating in Liga 2, while RANS PIK Basketball is competing in the IBL 2022 season. According to Raffi Ahmad, besides football, basketball is the most popular sport among the general public.

"I also see basketball as one of the sports with a cool lifestyle, when we see the NBA outside, the hype is really cool, I think in Indonesia hopefully with our presence together we can make our basketball more advanced," said Raffi Ahmad in a virtual press conference on Wednesday (15/9/2021).

"Because basketball is cool, its lifestyle is also big and crazy. I really like playing basketball but rarely do it. But it's the same. I used to play football and basketball in extracurricular activities," added Raffi Ahmad.

Having a football and basketball club, Raffi Ahmad is confirmed to spend a large amount of money to build his team. So, how much did Raffi Ahmad spend to build his basketball club?

"That will be explained by the president of the basketball club. But as for the amount, it's actually not about the amount. But the most important thing is how strong our intention is. So our intention is greater than the money we invest. That's the most important thing," said Raffi Ahmad.

It is known that Raffi Ahmad's basketball club, RANS PIK Basketball, has officially become a new contestant in the Indonesia Basketball League (IBL). Along with 15 other teams, RANS PIK Basketball will participate in the highest basketball competition in Indonesia. As the IBL 2022 season approaches, this 34-year-old artist plans to introduce the players of RANS PIK Basketball.

"We will release the players on the 20th," concluded Raffi Ahmad.

Since diving into the world of sports, Raffi Ahmad has had two clubs. In football, Raffi Ahmad has a club called RANS Cilegon FC. Then, in basketball, this 34-year-old artist has a club named RANS PIK Basketball.

"When it comes to corporations, if I have already used the name RANS, we will definitely think about it. It's not just for one or two years, but we want it to last as long as possible. Whether it's football or basketball, especially in basketball, we have already thought about the place for its sportainment," said Raffi Ahmad.

Having two clubs at the same time from different sports branches is not just following the trend, but Raffi Ahmad is really serious about it. He has even thought about the long term for both clubs.

"We are serious, not just for one or two years, or just for show, but we are really serious. We want to advance basketball with what we have and we maximize it for the best," concluded Raffi Ahmad.
