Attending the Gala Premiere in Jakarta, Mario Maurer, Davika Hoorne, and Banjong Pisanthanakun Praise the Production of the Film 'KANG MAK'

Kapanlagi.com - The production house Falcon Pictures held a gala premiere for KANG MAK, which is a remake of the popular Thai film titled PEE MAK. The event attracted attention as it was attended by director Banjong Pisanthanakun and the two main stars, Mario Maurer and Davika Hoorne.

After watching the remake, praise was given by Banjong, Mario, and Davika to the cast and filmmakers of KANG MAK. Even Mario expressed his gratitude for choosing his film to be adapted into the Indonesian version.

"First of all, I want to commend the team of KANG MAK. They have done a great job in creating an excellent film as well. Thank you for choosing PEE MAK and turning it into KANG MAK. I love what you all have done," said Mario at a press conference at Plaza Indonesia, Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, Saturday night (3/8/2024).

1. Not One Hundred Percent Original

After watching KANG MAK, Davika Hoorne realized that changes were made so that this remake would be easily accepted by the local audience. Davika appreciated this.

"It's truly amazing to know what they have done. Because they added a twist and brought in your culture and sense of humor for this film. I see those changes and I can't reveal them now. It's very surprising, not one hundred percent like the original but I think you will like it," said Davika.

2. No Need for Convincing

Banjong Pisanthanakun liked the Indonesian remake of PEE MAK. Even when he first received the official request for permission, he didn't take long to be convinced.

"I was quite surprised (there was a request for a remake) because this film was released more than ten years ago. They didn't need to convince me because I believed. And the result turned out to be what I expected," concluded Banjong.
