JP, known for his viral video titled 'How I make MILLIONS of dollars in Bali', claimed to own an area of 1.1 hectares. However, after an investigation by the Directorate General of Immigration, all of it was proven to be false. Immigration authorities assessed that JP's content had the potential to damage Indonesia's image as an investment destination.
This news did not stop there. In May 2025, JP was reported to the Bali Police for allegedly threatening Richard Garcia, an American citizen living in Bali. This threat was allegedly related to Richard's comments about JP's viral video.

The situation escalated initially because JP sent threats to Richard and his family. The threats were not only through direct messages on WhatsApp but also targeted Richard's underage children.
JP is suspected of stalking Richard's children's daily activities, making the situation even more terrifying. On February 24, 2025, the manager of the villa where Richard was staying reported that people claimed to have been instructed by JP to deliver a message for Richard to stop 'disturbing' JP. Meanwhile, Richard felt he had never done such a thing.
Amid this tension, JP sent a WhatsApp message threatening to spread false news about Richard, intending to embarrass his wife and children. Richard felt that this was an attack on his livelihood.
The fear that engulfed Richard and his family forced them to go to Japan to ensure their safety. Even after returning to Bali, threats from JP continued to come in, making Richard feel cornered.
"The threats against my family have gone beyond limits; this is intolerable and must be punished," Richard asserted to the media.

Richard's party then chose to bring this case to the legal realm. Through his lawyer, Todung Mulya Lubis, Richard has filed a lawsuit for unlawful acts against JP.
"This lawsuit is filed solely to protect the legal interests of our Client that have been harmed. We will not stop until our Client receives the justice he deserves, as reported to the police, Bali Police, by Richard himself," he stated.
"If this despicable act is left unaddressed, it will set a bad example for other irresponsible parties. What has been done has attracted attention; Immigration briefly detained him in November 2024," he explained.
