The plagiarism accusations against Bernadya are widely discussed on platform X. Netizens are discussing songs whose lyrics are similar to those of the singer from Surabaya.
One of these is the song by Olivia Rodrigo titled Enough For You. When the lyrics are translated, the result is Bernadya's song titled Kata Mereka Ini Berlebihan.
Another song discussed by netizens is Taylor Swift's track titled August. The translation of its lyrics is exactly the same as a verse in the song Kata Mereka Ini Berlebihan. So, one song by Bernadya has two lyrics that are similar to songs from Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.
This plagiarism accusation was promptly addressed by Bernadya. Through her X account, Bernadya did not deny that she has several works inspired by other musicians.
However, Bernadya was very furious when reading the accusation that she only translated lyrics from other musicians and then merely created the melody. Because, after all, the process of creating the music she produces is not that simple.
Netizens are now divided, as from the investigation, it is not only Bernadya who has lyrics similar to foreign singers, but several musicians also do the same. Many are now defending the singer and stating that similar lyrics are not a fatal mistake.
