Away from the Entertainment World for a Long Time, Agus Dhukun Now Focuses on Developing his Youtube Channel and Has a New Hobby

Kapanlagi.com - Senior singer, Agus Dhukun has not been heard in the Indonesian music industry for quite some time. The singer, who became popular with the songs Warteg and Hitam Putih, currently chooses to focus on his new job as a civil servant (ASN).

Although he is on hiatus, Agus apparently still cannot leave his love for music. In the midst of his busy schedule, he enjoys writing songs. And recently, Agus created a song for his 3-year-old daughter.

"It has been more than 12 years since my last recording, but I still occasionally write songs. I am also trying to create children's songs for my 3-year-old daughter, named Shelyn Adlyani H. Nowadays, it's not difficult to perform on online platforms like YouTube, hehe, so that I can become a child artist," said Agus Dhukun in an interview with Cakraline.com, on Saturday (28/5).

1. Not Bound by the Entertainment World

As a singer, Agus Dhukun became quite well-known in 2008 with his songs Warteg and Hitam Putih. Singing has never been his main profession, so when he took a break, there weren't many significant changes that he experienced.

"The art world is just entertainment in between other activities, so Alhamdulillah, there is no influence whatsoever, I just go with the flow. The art world is just a recreational activity, so I have never really focused on it," he continued.

2. Pursuing a New Hobby

Being a civil servant requires Agus to move from one province to another. Currently, this thick-mustached man is on duty in Papua. During that time, he has come to know various natural beauties that couldn't be found in Jakarta.

"I've been in Papua for 7 years, and almost 2 years in West Sulawesi. Since I was in Lombok & Bali, I have been pursuing diving as a hobby. When I moved to Papua, I found out that Raja Ampat is a 'Little Heaven that Fell to Earth,' the number 1 underwater beauty in the world. I have dived in several locations such as Lombok, Bali, Ambon, Bunaken (Manado), Sulawesi, and others, all of them are beautiful, especially Raja Ampat," he added.

"Diving is an unparalleled pleasure. The joy at a depth of about 25 to 30 meters is difficult to express and write as a poetic song. The silence at the bottom of the sea and the water pressure make us feel refreshed and forget about any shortcomings or unpleasant things, we can even forget about debts," he explained.

3. Focus on Youtube Channel

In addition to working, singing, and pursuing his new hobby of diving, Agus Dhukun is also currently developing his own Youtube channel, Nit Not. Despite his age, Agus still feels the need to keep up with the times in order to survive.

"Youtube channel, especially during a pandemic like this, is a means to express and channel artistic hobbies. In addition, we can earn a decent income. With the advancement of technology, including digital technology, human life is becoming easier, everything is online, including seeking a livelihood, can be done online. If we don't adapt to technological developments, we will be left behind," he concluded.
