Azizah Salsha Never Attended the Hearing, a Reason for Pratama Arhan's Divorce Lawsuit to be Decided Quickly in Absentia

In less than a month since the lawsuit was filed, the panel of judges at the Tigaraksa Religious Court has issued a ruling. It turns out, there is a legal reason behind this super fast process.

Sholahuddin, the spokesperson for the Tigaraksa Religious Court, explained that the ruling was made in absentia. This term refers to a decision made by the panel of judges without the presence of the defendant, in this case, Azizah Salsha. According to Sholahuddin, Azizah Salsha has never attended or sent a representative since the first hearing was held.

1. Without Mediation Needed

When asked further whether Zize, the familiar name for Azizah, has been absent since the beginning, Sholahuddin confirmed it. "Yes (never attended since the beginning)," he asserted.

The absence of the defendant party allows the panel of judges to expedite the trial process in accordance with applicable regulations, without the need for mediation or lengthy evidence agendas. "Well, friends already know everything. Article 125 HIR read it yourself, if one party is absent it can be decided in default," he explained.

2. Arhan's Legal Counsel Always Attends

Unlike Azizah's side, Pratama Arhan as the plaintiff always ensures his representative is present. Even though the athlete is abroad, his legal counsel always attends every hearing.

"If that’s the power of attorney, yes. In the first hearing there was a power of attorney, in the second hearing there was also a power of attorney because he is currently abroad and playing football there," said Sholahuddin.

As of now, the exact reason behind Azizah Salsha's absence in the divorce trial process with Pratama Arhan is still unknown.
