Ibrahim Sjarief Assegaf passed away on Tuesday (20/5/2025) at 14:29 WIB at RS PON, Jakarta. The body was laid to rest at the mourning house in the Jeruk Purut area, South Jakarta, and was visited by many important figures, including Baim Wong.
Baim admitted that he learned a lot from the way the Najwa family lives, especially in terms of maintaining relationships and household harmony. It is known that all of Quraish Shihab's children and in-laws live in the same area.
"You can see 10 families. He has different connections, which means his house also has 11 plots in front, back, and there are no fences, so we meet every day, learning a lot from them," said Baim.
According to him, a house environment without fences symbolizes the strong bonds among the members of the Quraish Shihab extended family. It reflects a warm life where they support one another.
In the midst of mourning, Baim tried to provide support to Najwa Shihab, even though there weren't many words that could be directly conveyed. "He knows how to see us, how we see him, in a sense, we are the expression from the eyes, we can't be too much you know, because there are many guests too," said Baim.
He truly understands that such a loss is not easy, especially for a child. Baim also prays that the family left behind is given strength. "We don’t know what it feels like, maybe after this it will be a bit calmer, the one who suffers the most is actually the child, let's just pray for them," he said softly.
