Baskara Mahendra Reveals His Role in the Film 'DAD, WHERE IS THIS HEADING?'

In the midst of a seemingly fragile family portrait in the film DAD, WHERE IS THIS HEADING?, there will be a figure who becomes the support and source of strength. This character is Bumi, played by actor Baskara Mahendra.

Baskara gives a little sneak peek about his role. He will be the 'shoulder to lean on' for the main character, Dira, played by Mawar de Jongh.

Bumi is portrayed as a man who is always there for Dira, especially during tough times when Dira's family is hit by a crisis. "Maybe what I can share from the trailer we just saw, Bumi is a character who always provides his shoulder for Dira," said Baskara Mahendra when met in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (24/03/2026).

Dira's character is an ambitious girl who tends to prioritize the feelings of others over her own interests. "She also always seems to prioritize the feelings of others over her own feelings," explained Mawar de Jongh about her character.

Here, the role of Bumi becomes very important. He is not only a place to vent, but also a figure who tries to make Dira aware to pay more attention to herself.

"Bumi also tries to constantly remind Dira that her world is something she needs to think about herself as well," said Baskara.

According to him, Bumi is the type of person who is willing to prioritize his partner above all else. This inner conflict will be one of the interesting spices in their relationship in the film.

The story between Dira and Bumi is predicted to become a sweet yet touching subplot, providing a bit of warmth amidst the intense family drama.

FATHER, WHERE IS THIS GOING? tells the story of Dira, a girl who grows up with a father who is never emotionally present. A family crisis forces her to grow up faster and find her own direction in life. This film will be released in theaters starting April 9, 2026.
