Mpok Nori's Grandchild Killed by Ex-Husband, Neighborhood Head Reveals Motive for Murder

The murder case involving Dwintha Anggary, the granddaughter of the late Mpok Nori, reveals a rather sad motive. According to police statements, the perpetrator, who is the victim's ex-husband, is suspected of committing this heinous act due to jealousy. The perpetrator accused the victim of having a relationship with another man, whereas in reality, the victim was busy working.

The local neighborhood head, Nurgiyanto, provided an explanation regarding Dwintha's daily activities, as she often worked late into the night. As a chef who owns a catering business, the victim was often assisted by her colleagues when preparing orders. The perpetrator's misunderstanding of the victim's work relationship is suspected to be the main trigger for the anger. Here are the details.

Nurgiyanto emphasized that during her time in that environment, Dwintha was known as an independent person. She was never seen bringing male friends into her rented house. All allegations of infidelity directed at the victim were considered baseless by the local community leaders.

The perpetrator is a foreign national who has been living in the area since marrying the victim. Although he often mingles with the locals, language barriers frequently hinder communication between the perpetrator and the surrounding community. The victim usually acts as a translator when the perpetrator is conversing with residents or neighborhood officials.

"Basically, the person seems nice, looks ordinary, but we are hindered by language communication. Their English is somewhat lacking, and their Arabic is also not understandable; even when we speak Javanese directly, they don't comprehend. Many from the late woman's side understand," said Nurgiyanto.

The marriage that had lasted for two years had to end in divorce due to incompatibility. However, the perpetrator was reported to be unwilling to accept the victim's decision to separate. He continued to try to approach the victim despite a family ban on visiting the rented house.

"Well, it might be that the family is incompatible or something we don't quite understand; perhaps there are issues from the wife or other factors that led to the incompatibility. In the end, the victim requested a divorce, but her husband still did not want to separate, that's the gist of it," he concluded.
