"Chronologically, it might be from the family side, yes, because I got information from a family phone call, and I was awakened by my nephew at half past three. As soon as I was awakened, there were family screams, so I spontaneously went outside. As soon as I went outside, I was at the crime scene, that was the incident, yes, there was the deceased lying there," said Nurgiyanto when met in the Bambu Apus area, Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Sunday (23/3/2026).

The family had to forcibly enter the house because the door was locked from the inside. The family's suspicion began when the victim, who was busy with catering work, did not answer the phone since the night before. After successfully entering through a window, the family was able to open the main door using a key found on the bedroom table.

"Similarly, when they knocked and received no response, they eventually forced their way in through the window. When they looked, there was no longer any life. They saw a key on the table and then opened the door, just like that. When it was opened, I was quite shocked too, because the deceased was already lying there," explained Nurgiyanto.

This incident became even more suspicious because the neighbors did not hear any noise coming from the victim's rented house. After checking the CCTV footage from nearby residents, there was suspicious movement from the victim's ex-husband named Fuad. The suspected perpetrator was seen carrying an object and hurriedly leaving the location.

"It turns out there really was something. At that time, he brought the carpet inside, and six minutes later he ran away. Logically, this means he must have done something wrong because he fled. If he wasn't the one who did it, he would have been shouting for help, at least 'Mr. RT, Mr. RT, help me', right?" he stated.

The police did not take long to secure the suspected perpetrator. The victim's ex-husband, who had fled, was finally captured in the Cikupa area, Tangerang, Banten. The news of this arrest provided a slight sense of relief for the family and local residents who felt devastated by the incident that befell the grandson of the Betawi artist.

"That afternoon I felt relieved that the suspect had been caught, yes if I believe he is," concluded Nurgiyanto.
