Anwar BAB Reveals Favorite Lebaran Dishes, Prepares Special THR for Relatives

For Anwar BAB, celebrating Lebaran in his hometown, Munjul, East Jakarta, is incomplete without the presence of traditional dishes that are characteristic. As someone who loves culinary delights, Anwar has a list of must-have dishes that should be available on the dining table.

These dishes are traditional recipes that always evoke memories of his childhood every time the holiday arrives. One of the most anticipated is the pineapple tarts made by his mother, which have an authentic taste. In addition, there are also special Betawi and Sundanese dishes that are the favorites in his home. Here are the details.

"The food that I've been waiting for? This one, what's it called? Nastar, my mom's homemade nastar filled with pineapple. Tape uli, that tape uli is really delicious. Semur daging, and the vegetable kumbuili. Kumbuili is, in Sundanese, potato vegetable, potatoes colored yellow with vermicelli, it's really good with petai," said Anwar BAB when met in East Jakarta, Monday (23/03/2026).

Besides the kumbuili vegetable, there is one other unique dish that Anwar always misses, which is fried tembang fish coated in flour. This simple yet delicious dish is the perfect complement among the array of heavier foods.

Along with his rising career in the entertainment world, Anwar also does not forget to share happiness through the tradition of giving Holiday Allowance (THR). He has prepared a number of small denomination bills to be distributed to his nephews, siblings, and even his employees. For him, giving THR is the right moment to give charity and help others on this festive day.

"Yes, make sure, because this happens once a year. That's why I prepare various kinds of small bills. Because if it's not Eid, people might feel embarrassed to come to the house asking for THR, right? It's a moment, so how do you say? I just say it's charity, it's good deeds," he said.

Anwar's concern for the welfare of those around him has become his main focus this year. He hopes that the charity he gives can be beneficial and bring happiness to those who receive it.

"Don't let there be people who are hungry on the first of Syawal, on Eid day, people who don't have rice, don't have food. God willing, everyone will be prosperous," concluded Anwar.
