Becoming a Suspect of Assault, Pierre Gruno Faces 5 Years in Prison

Kapanlagi.com - The South Jakarta Metropolitan Police investigators have named actor Pierre Gruno as a suspect in the assault against a man with the initials GDS. The star of the movie THE RAID faces a five-year prison sentence according to Article 351 on assault.

"The suspect is charged under Article 351 of the Indonesian Penal Code regarding assault. The punishment is a five-year prison sentence," said the head of the criminal investigation unit of the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Irwandhy, on Friday (14/7/2023).

1. Becoming a Suspect After Evidence Emerges

Pierre was named a suspect on Thursday (14/7/2023) after the police obtained sufficient evidence. "After analyzing the CCTV footage and witness statements at the crime scene, we found a match, and we believe there was a criminal act," said Irwandhy.

Irwandhy explained that the alleged assault incident began when Pierre Gruno and the victim met at a bar in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta, on Friday, June 30, 2023.

2. Pierre Offended

At that time, Pierre pushed the victim and assaulted him until the victim fell. "Pushed, and hit the victim's face once, causing the victim to fall to the floor," said Irwandhy.

When asked about the trigger for Pierre's assault, the investigator considered it subjective. Because Pierre claimed to be offended by the victim's gesture.

"During the interaction, there was a gesture from the victim that the suspect deemed inappropriate. So it triggered anger from the suspect," he said.
