Becoming the Producer of the Film 'KUKIRA KAU RUMAH', Prilly Latuconsina Doesn't Want to Find Actors Based on Engagement on Instagram

Kapanlagi.com - Known as an actress, Prilly Latuconsina tries her luck behind the scenes. She sits in the producer's chair in a romantic drama film titled KUKIRA KAU RUMAH.

Prilly invites newcomer Jourdy Pranata to make his big screen debut through the produced film. She chose Jourdy without considering the number of followers, purely based on his acting performance.

1. Feeling Strange

As someone who has been involved in the entertainment industry for a long time, Prilly Latuconsina understands that some production houses look for actors based on their popularity on social media. However, she did not apply this in producing KUKIRA KAU RUMAH because she felt it was strange.

"Many production houses give opportunities to people who are not casted, sometimes they don't understand the character given to them, they are just chosen because they have a lot of engagement on social media. And I think that's really strange," said Prilly when met at Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (31/1/2022).

2. Not Seeing Instagram

Prilly Latuconsina's statement is not without reason. According to her, the actor's performance in bringing a character to life is more important than engagement on social media.

"Because the most important thing is the appearance on screen, not how much engagement on Instagram, especially since this is watched not on Instagram, but in the cinema. That's why I want us to cast actors based on their talents, not based on Instagram," said the 25-year-old woman.

3. Many Talented Individuals with Few Followers

According to Prilly Latuconsina, there are many talented individuals who have few followers. That's why she and Umay Shahab, as the director, take casting seriously.

"There are so many talents out there who haven't joined Instagram, who have few followers but have good acting skills and are willing to learn. They have extraordinary talent but are not chosen because of their followers. I don't want to be like that, that's why we really cast," said Prilly.

4. Stay Casting

Regarding her selection as the main cast in KUKIRA KAU RUMAH, Prilly Latuconsina also went through the casting process. Umay Shahab also approved the pattern.

"I also had to audition for the role of Niskala. Because it's not necessarily me who creates the character, I have to fit. That's why I auditioned," said the girlfriend of Irzan Faiq.
