Admitting Difficulty Acting alongside Ge Pamungkas in the film 'JUST MOM', Christine Hakim: It Makes Me Want to Laugh

Kapanlagi.com - Besides Ayushita, Ge Pamungkas is one of the actors involved in the latest drama film entitled JUST MOM. In the film, Ge has the opportunity to act alongside senior actress Christine Hakim.

In a press conference at XXI Plaza Senayan, Jakarta Selata recently, Ge Pamungkas considered the opportunity to act with Christine Hakim as something special. He was even impressed with the 65-year-old actress during rehearsals before filming began.

"There was one moment when I was in the same frame as mom (Christine Hakim). It was during rehearsals. Usually, during rehearsals, you just deliver and block the scene. But, mom came out with messy hair, swollen eyes," said Ge Pamungkas.

"I was thinking, is this for real or just part of the rehearsal. Because mom always gives 100%, from rehearsals to takes," he continued.

1. Always Want to Laugh

In the same occasion, Christine Hakim also enjoyed acting with Ge Pamungkas. However, the star of the movie DAUN DI ATAS BANTAL admitted that she found it difficult to concentrate when filming scenes with Ge Pamungkas.

"The hardest scene is with him. Because when I see his face, I can't help but want to laugh all the time," said Christine Hakim.

2. Delving into the Role

In the movie JUST MOM, Ge Pamungkas plays the character of Damar, the second child of Mother Siti played by Christine Hakim. As Damar, Ge has to portray a dignified character, not funny, and contrasting with his profession as a stand-up comedian.

Furthermore, according to Ge, it is not difficult to portray the character of Damar. He also shared how he immersed himself in the role for the film Just Mom.

"I just create it, like Damar is close to the middle child, it feels close to the mother. So, in this film, I observe how the mother is, and then I pull at least the mother's personality must influence the child. So, when the mother is gentle, well, Damar is also gentle like that," he said.

3. Family Conflict

The film JUST MOM tells the story of a mother named Siti who is old and suffering from a serious illness. Despite her old age, Siti remains a caring person who dares to take care of a pregnant mentally disabled person, Murni (Ayushita).

Murni's presence certainly brings conflict to Mother Siti's family, but Murni's unexpected presence also brings warmth to the family. Just Mom is produced by Hanung Bramantyo and directed by Jeihan Angga, the film is ready to be released in theaters soon.

4. Initially Confused

Meanwhile, Ayushita, who was chosen as the main cast, admitted that she was initially confused when portraying the character of a mentally disabled person in JUST MOM.

"I was contacted, 'Ay, Mas Hanung wants to make a film, play with the mother (Christine Hakim)'. Then, well, I said I wanted to. But then I was told again, 'But you will play a crazy person'," said Ayushita.

"I am happy because I get a new experience. But why me (chosen to play a mentally disabled person)?" she continued.

5. Happy to Get the Opportunity

Ayushita admitted that she was very happy to have the opportunity to conduct research in a strange way. She was even grateful because she didn't have to bother when playing the role of ODGJ in the film.

"I'm grateful, because the universe always gives us facilities from anywhere. When we realize the sign, it can definitely be used for work as an actor and so on," she said.
