Kapanlagi.com - The Eastern Indonesian blood flowing strongly in Betrand Peto Putra Onsu makes him never forget his cultural roots. Amidst his career success in the capital, Onyo has a big dream to elevate music from his birthplace by collaborating with great musicians from the East.
Onyo specifically mentioned several legendary and popular musicians from Eastern Indonesia who are on his collaboration wish list. He greatly admires their works, which he believes have a strong distinctive character.
"If I could duet with those Eastern singers like Om Dody (Latuharhary). Legend. Ambon songs are just amazing, really top-notch for everyday. If I duet with him, wow, that would already be top, that's already top," he said when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Monday (19/01/2026).

In addition to Dody Latuharhary, Onyo also mentioned young musicians who are currently popular, such as Toton Caribo, Mario G. Klau, and Wizz Baker. He hopes that all Eastern musicians can collaborate with him someday.
"That Eastern song, I want to duet with those three singers. If not with Kakak Toton, then Kakak Mario. There are many Eastern songs or Eastern singers I want to duet with, like Kakak Amhe, Kakak Mario, and Kakak Marvey Cola. Basically, all Eastern singers, if possible, let’s duet," he hopes.
Onyo has even had the chance to discuss this desire with his father, Ruben Onsu. He asked Ruben to facilitate communication with those musicians so that his dream collaboration could come true.
"I mentioned it to Dad the other day, 'Dad, can you try to get an Eastern song, but can you help me arrange a duet with this one?' Then Dad said it’s easy, he would try to make it happen," Onyo recounted, mimicking his conversation with Ruben.

However, for now, Onyo admits he still has to hold back for a moment from collaboration projects. This is because he is focused on completing his latest solo project, which has entered the final stages of production.
"So far, no (duet), because I'm still focused on my new project, right? The solo project is already at home. I've talked to my dad, and I've also discussed it with my management. Now we just need to wait for the photoshoot," Onyo explained.
The plan is that this latest solo single will be released on a special occasion. Onyo provided a little hint that the song is likely to be launched in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.
"If it’s released, it might be during fasting, right? Why during fasting? Because the song is there, that’s for sure. It’s not (spiritual), but it’s definitely there," Onyo concluded, leaving everyone curious.
