Bhre, the child of Zaskia Adya Mecca, undergoes tonsil surgery

Unpleasant news comes from the family of Zaskia Adya Mecca. One of their children, Bhre, underwent tonsil, adenoid surgery, and nasal concha reduction.

Zaskia shared her son's experience through her personal Instagram. This procedure was performed while Bhre was in good health.

"It has been a long time in the draft, forgot to post it. But it’s important. Bhre just finished tonsil, adenoid, and concha reduction surgery. This procedure had been scheduled two weeks in advance and had to be done while the child was in good health," wrote Zaskia Adya Mecca in an Instagram post on Sunday (4/5).

The decision for surgery was made after the discovery of enlarged tonsils and adenoids, even accompanied by a pus-filled infection. Additionally, the nasal concha of Bhre also experienced swelling that caused respiratory disturbances.

This condition has the potential to trigger symptoms known as adenoid face, which is a characteristic facial appearance due to enlarged adenoids, such as a mouth that is often slightly open for breathing, sunken eyes, bad breath, and a tendency to snore while sleeping.

"Why does it have to be surgery? Do you guys know about something called Adenoid Face? It's a typical face of someone with enlarged adenoids, where the mouth is always slightly open (for breathing), the lower part of the eyes is slightly sunken, there is a distinctive bad breath, and usually, they snore often while sleeping," explained Zaskia Adya Mecca.

@drfairuz_tht said, "If a child often has difficulty breathing, don't just check the lower respiratory tract (lungs). Also check the upper respiratory tract (ENT) because the initial cause might be from here."

The surgery, which lasted about an hour, was performed at Brawijaya Hospital. Previously, Bhre's sister, Sybil, had also undergone a similar procedure a few months ago with significant results. She admitted that she can now breathe much easier than before.

"Bismillah, we strive for Bhre, yes.. although post-op we need to be patient facing his crankiness. One day when he grows up, you will understand why Bia Abi made this decision," wrote Zaskia Adya Mecca.
