Blessed with a Child After Marriage, Here Are 8 Photos of Kevin Aprilio Revealing the Reason for Delaying Parenthood for Three Years

"Yes, the first three years I held back, because my wife had some health issues. During that time, I didn't want to have children yet because I was afraid I wasn't ready. But after three years, we started trying in October last year. Then three months later, we conceived," said Kevin Aprilio in the Taman Anggrek area, West Jakarta, Saturday (12/10/2024).

Kevin also acknowledged that he had heard the notion that delaying having children is taboo. However, according to him, everyone has different considerations. 

"Yes, actually I feel the same. I always think, well, people are different. Some people say many children mean many blessings, or having children brings blessings, but I think we should settle down first before having kids," he explained.

For him, financial and mental readiness is important before deciding to have children.

"Settling down doesn't mean you have to be wealthy or anything, but you need to be prepared because you have to consider the costs, our working hours, and maybe I was only ready just last year," said Kevin.

In addition, when asked about plans to have more children, Kevin admitted that he hasn't thought about adding to the family in the near future. According to him, he wants to focus on learning to care for his first child and dividing time with his wife. Besides that, Kevin also has personal dreams that he hasn't had the chance to realize with his wife. 

"More? If I have more, I want to learn this first, if I can handle this one, I don't know, I still don't want to, just one is already quite a lot, I need to learn to manage my time first," he said.

"Maybe later I want to have more time with my wife, one thing I haven't realized is traveling around the world, I haven't done that yet, I feel like I've only lived in Jakarta, so adding more can wait for now," he concluded.
