Bonita Angelia Files a Lawsuit for Cancellation of Marriage Validation Submitted by Sustrini Against Yon Koeswoyo

Kapanlagi.com - Shocking news comes from the family of the late Yon Koeswoyo. Bonita Angelia on August 19, 2024, filed a lawsuit for the cancellation of the marriage validation that was registered by Sustrini along with her children at the South Jakarta Religious Court in 2023.

"Now there is a party that wants to cancel the marriage validation submitted by Bonita Angelia. It was submitted on August 19, 2024, by the first applicant, the second applicant, and the third applicant," said Taslimah, the spokesperson for the South Jakarta Religious Court at her office.

Taslimah stated that Sustrini, the first wife of one of the Koes Plus personnel, filed a marriage validation lawsuit against Yon Koeswoyo in 2023. The trial has already been decided, and the panel of judges granted the lawsuit submitted by Sustrini, Gariyas Ulung Koeswoyo, and David Otmar Veda Koeswoyo.

"Regarding the marriage validation submitted by the wife of the late Yon Koeswoyo, which was submitted in 2023, the case number is 3716 and has already been decided," she said.

"Then the case submitted by Sustrini and her children Gariyas and David filed a request for the validation of their marriage to her husband Yon Koeswoyo, and that has been decided in 2023," Taslimah continued.

According to Taslimah, a person can indeed file a lawsuit for the cancellation of marriage validation. And the court has already accepted the registration of the lawsuit filed by Bonita.

"So there will be a hearing for what is called a lawsuit. A lawsuit for the cancellation of marriage validation. So the marriage that has been validated is requested to be canceled by another party, a certain party that wants the marriage to be canceled by another party," said Taslimah.

The trial itself is said by Taslimah to have been scheduled to take place this September. However, she did not disclose the exact date.

"The agenda for the trial, if I'm not mistaken, is in September. Early September. Exactly, it will be early September," she explained.

2. Marriage Validation

As is known, marriage validation is the process of legalizing a marriage that is conducted in a religious court for a marriage that has taken place but is not recorded at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) or Marriage Registrar (PPN).

"In general, marriage validation means establishing that the marriage that took place previously does not have written evidence. According to the law, marriages that took place in the year before 1974 can be validated," explained Taslimah.

"Or marriages that have doubts about their validity, whether in terms of conditions or pillars. Or marriages where the parties want to divorce, but do not have a marriage certificate. So marriage validation is also a divorce lawsuit. That is what can be validated," Taslimah concluded her explanation about marriage validation.
