Cakra Khan Asks for Permission from Mother Before Auditioning for AGT 2023

The singer of the song Kekasih Bayangan revealed that he immediately asked for permission when he had the opportunity to audition for America's Got Talent (AGT) 2023.

"I told my mom first, asked for her permission. When I got the green light from my label, I explained everything to my mom, like, 'Why go all the way to America? How long will it take? How will it be?'" said Cakra Khan when met in Terogong, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/7).

Cakra Khan explained that his beloved mother was worried when he participated in a talent competition. This is because his mother had a trauma when he participated in such event.

"Because she had a little trauma in the past, every time I joined a contest that was brought by my late father, I never won," he said.

"So I always lost, what's the point of going far away. But I explained, this is also an opportunity to improve my skills, to meet people who are more talented," he added.

2. Cakra Khan's Performance on AGT

Cakra Khan himself did not need much time to perform on America's Got Talent (AGT) 2023. Because all the preparations were already arranged by the team there.

"We were allowed to do everything via zoom, from the label and the team there, and it was fast. They immediately told us to arrange the visa, gave us the tickets to go there," Cakra Khan concluded.

Initially, Cakra Khan performed "Make It Rain", but Simon Cowell stopped him and asked him to sing another song. Cakra Khan with his unique voice received a standing ovation from the judges and the audience. He advanced to the next round after receiving four 'Yes' from the judges.
