Chronology of Medina Zein's Drug Case, Tested Positive for Using Amphetamine - Decided to Undergo 3 Months of Rehabilitation

A series of examinations were conducted and the results showed that she tested positive for using amphetamine. Not long after, her brother-in-law, Ibra Azhari, was also arrested in the same case.

"On December 27, we successfully arrested someone with the initials MZ at that time. MZ is Medina Zein. This is the result of the development from several other suspects that we had previously arrested, there were seven suspects," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Yusri Yunus, at the Narcotics Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, South Jakarta, on Friday (3/1/2020).

"The development led to Medina Zein, who we arrested at a hospital in the Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta. Then we conducted an examination on her and the urine test indeed proved that she used amphetamine. Then we further investigated her and tried to examine her hair at the Indonesian National Police Forensic Laboratory. Yesterday, the results came out on December 2," he continued.

1. Not Long Consuming

The examination was conducted in detail, even through the hair. From there, it can be seen how long someone has been consuming drugs.

However, different results were shown in the examination of Medina Zein. It turns out that the wife of Lukman Azhari has not been consuming it for long.

"The result for MZ cannot be detected because her usage is still relatively new. When she was arrested, we found only a mobile phone because of further development. Then we conducted a case hearing for MZ, and the result is that she has to undergo assessment. And yesterday the assessment was conducted and the result has come out," said Yusri Yunus.

2. Undergo Rehabilitation

Nevertheless, Yusri added that Medina still has to abide by the law. The decision states that she will undergo a 3-month rehabilitation period.

"So for Medina Zein, or her real name Medina Susani, it has been decided to implement rehabilitation for her. The rehabilitation will be carried out at Lemdikpol Pasar Jumat. Today we will send her there, and within a period of three months, she will undergo rehab. Whether it will be extended or reduced depends on the team there. So starting from today, we will immediately take her there to be implemented," he concluded.
