Collaborating with Abdul Idol, Darling Squad Greenify the Complex of Percandian Gedongsongo Semarang

The runner-up of Indonesian Idol 2018 is also collaborated by the Darling Squad to greenify the complex of Candi Gedongsongo in the Siap Darling program.

The 28-year-old man also admitted that he is proud to be actively involved in efforts to improve the environment.

1. Darling Squad, Environmental Volunteer Activities

Darling Squad itself is a group of active students who become volunteers in every environmental activity. The goal is to improve the damage caused to the earth. Meanwhile, in the Gedongsongo Temple complex this time, Siap Darling invited 50 Darling Squad members from 28 universities in Indonesia.

For those of you who don't know, the Siap Darling program aims to encourage the millennial generation to not just care. More than that, they can directly participate in real actions, move together, and pursue future dreams to improve the damage caused to the earth.

2. Planting 868 Trees in the Gedungsongo Temple Complex

This is also what makes Siap Darling invite Darling Squad to plant and engage in various environmental activities together. One of them is by planting 868 trees and shrubs scattered throughout the Gedongsongo Temple complex. Because cultural heritage deserves more colors, and at the same time, it absorbs CO2 in the area. It would be a waste if it is not used to absorb CO2.

As for the plant seeds planted in the temple complex, which was discovered in 1804, they come from the Plant Breeding Center (PPT) of the Djarum Foundation's Environmental Service located in Kudus, Central Java. Meanwhile, the types of trees planted there include Japanese bamboo, Hujan Mas, Tabebuia Rosea, Pine, Puspa, and Akar Wangi in the Candi 1 area. In the Candi 4 area, pine, puspa, and Akar Wangi are planted.

3. Medium Millennials in Preserving the Environment

According to Vice President Director of Djarum Foundation, FX Supanji, Siap Darling can be a medium for millennials who have a great spirit to preserve and conserve the environment through concrete and enjoyable actions together.

In this Candi Darling event, Siap Darling invited 250 students from various universities in Indonesia such as Diponegoro University, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, UIN Walisongo Semarang, Semarang State University, and 50 other universities.

4. Hope for Siap Darling

With the continuous implementation of Siap Darling, it is hoped that historical heritage sites in Indonesia can become a favorite destination for the community because of their preservation. The same goes for the Gedongsongo Temple Complex, a Hindu temple located in the village of Candi, Bandungan District, precisely on the slopes of Mount Ungaran.

Before the greening of the Gedongsongo Temple Complex on March 5, 2020, the day before, 50 selected students participated in camping, forum discussion groups (FGD), and expressed their ideas in the form of proposals with the theme of environmental preservation. Later, the best concept will be realized through Djarum Foundation programs.

5. A Real Step to Care More for the Environment

Since its launch at the end of 2018, Siap Darling has successfully attracted 1,942 Darling Squad members from more than 122 universities in Indonesia, and 1,453 of them have already planted trees in the Candi Prambanan area, Ratu Boko Site, Candi Ijo, Fort Van Den Bosch, Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Kawah Ijen, and the Gedongsongo Temple Complex, with a total of more than 10,800 trees and flowering shrubs planted.

The darling temple program will be completed when all temples in Indonesia have been planted with various trees.
