An incident of commotion occurred at the eatery owned by actor Epy Kusnandar, managed by his wife, Karina Ranau. The police clarified that the incident was not an extortion attempt, but rather a misunderstanding triggered by two drunk men wanting to eat.

The Pancoran Police Chief, Kompol Mansur, explained the chronology of the incident that occurred at the eatery located in the Pancoran Haji Samali area, South Jakarta.

According to him, the incident was triggered by a trivial matter, namely the unavailability of the food that the two men wanted to order as the eatery was about to close. The police confirmed that both individuals were parking attendants who usually hang around the area.

"The situation is like this, that food stall is about to close at night, and the one asking for food, based on the investigation by the detectives, is the parking attendant who usually hangs out there," said Kompol Mansur, Monday (20/10/2025).

"They wanted to close this item, after that he didn't accept it, and finally, they raised their voices, and that's how the argument started, that's all actually," he added.

The police stated that both men arrived under the influence of alcohol. This is believed to have made them easily agitated when their desire to eat was not fulfilled.

"Yes, it's common there, and usually, at that time, the information might be about the condition of the neighboring stall, half drunk, that's it, half drunk," revealed Kompol Mansur.

The incident occurred when the stall managed by Epy Kusnandar's wife was preparing to close for the day. A quarrel broke out around midnight on Sunday night.

"The stall was already closed, it closed at midnight. Yes, around that time, and it opens at 1 PM," explained Mansur.

Following the incident, the police from the Pancoran Police Sector have visited the scene to conduct an investigation. Although no official report has been made by Karina Ranau, the police still advise to take legal action if they feel aggrieved.

"We went to the crime scene, we reported and checked the scene directly. Not yet, but we found it earlier, we advise that if there are any grievances that need to be followed up, I direct to file a police report (LP)," concluded Kompol Mansur.
