Kapanlagi.com - The biggest award event for television professionals, Indonesian Television Awards (ITA), will soon be back. Entering its 5th year, this time ITA presents 12 award categories consisting of 8 television programs and 4 individuals. For this year, there is a new category that is different from previous years, namely News Siang (Afternoon News) and Publik Figur Inspiratif (Inspirational Public Figure).
The assessment of each nominee is based on the results of a survey conducted by the Roy Morgan Research team and involves respondents in 28 cities from 17 provinces in Indonesia. Throughout the survey process, COVID-19 health protocols are also implemented in accordance with government recommendations to ensure safety.
Roy Morgan Research itself is an independent survey institution from Australia that has been in Indonesia since 2004. The survey is conducted directly to television viewers to find out their favorite television programs, seen from top of mind (spontaneously remembered) by viewers. The nominees themselves are programs that aired from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.
"The methodology used is not much different from previous years. The way we sample has not changed much. Stay from house to house and interview. We ask about favorite programs. And that's what came out. Difficulties in getting respondents, we always try to interview outside the house and maintain distance," said Ira Soekirman, CEO of Roy Morgan Research.

Viewers themselves can contribute their votes via social media Facebook and Instagram, the official website of the Indonesian Television Awards, and also the RCTI+ application. The voting calculation itself is carried out by a team of experts in the field to maintain the accuracy of the calculation and validation of voter data.
The voting results will be announced at the peak night of the Indonesian Television Awards, which falls on September 25, 2020.
"The Indonesian Television Awards is a reflection of the programs that are the choice of television viewers and perceptions of figures on Indonesian television screens throughout 2019-2020. The works of Indonesian television professionals are not judged by ratings but by the interest or interest of viewers. Of course, ITA 2020 is expected to be a driving force for television professionals to continue producing the best creativity in the world of Indonesian television," said Dini Putri, Programming & Acquisition Director of RCTI.
Ruben Onsu has been appointed as one of the nominees in the category of Most Popular TV Presenter. Meanwhile, the program Brownis, which is hosted by Sarwendah's husband, is also included in the category of Most Popular Non Prime Time Non Drama Program.
"For me as an artist, waiting for an award like this is because it is one of our appreciations not only for individuals but also for the program," said Ruben.
