Cynthia Lamusu Struggles with Plantar Fasciitis, Surya Becomes a Massage Therapist

The celebrity couple Surya Saputra and Cynthia Lamusu are known for their harmony and mutual support in every situation. Recently, it was revealed that Cynthia Lamusu is struggling with Plantar Fasciitis, an inflammatory condition affecting the tissue on the sole of the foot that causes excruciating pain.

Surya Saputra explained that his wife's condition is caused by a lack of stretching during exercise and the use of improper shoes. As a result, Cynthia's foot muscles have become tense and painful, disrupting her daily activities.

"In the past, I thought the cause was exercise, but the shoes were not right. The shoes were too flat. They didn't support the arch of the foot. Over time, it led to flat foot, and that became a problem for the muscles underneath," explained Surya when met in the Kemang area of South Jakarta on Tuesday (30/12/2025).

As a caring husband, Surya did not just stand by and watch his wife in pain. He willingly became a personal masseur for his wife to relieve her pain and muscle tension. Surya even studied specific acupressure points to help heal Cynthia's feet.

"I really enjoy it. I enjoy being massaged and enjoy massaging others. So my intention is to help people. I learned the points that, 'Oh, it should be here.' So if the problem is this, the cause is this, the solution is this," he said.

Interestingly, behind the pain experienced, there are sweet moments created between them. Surya mentioned that his wife becomes more spoiled when her illness flares up, and his massages always manage to calm Cynthia down."There are two effects. First, the pain for sure. Second, the spoiled behavior. (Imitating Cynthia's spoiled tone) 'Honey... massage me... it hurts here...'," joked Surya while laughing and mimicking his wife's style.

In addition to massages, Surya also advised his wife to use special footwear. Shoes with soft padding are highly recommended to prevent the condition from worsening and to reduce pressure on the heels.

The background of this illness often occurs in people who are active in sports but neglect warming up and choosing the right footwear. Plantar Fasciitis can become chronic if not treated properly.

Surya hopes that with regular treatment, his wife's leg condition can recover soon. He is committed to continue supporting and assisting Cynthia's healing process.
