Defense of Iis Dahlia Regarding Her Daughter's Statement Regarding Koreans Being Cleaner than Indians

Kapanlagi.com - Iis Dahlia's daughter, Juwita Salshadilla is currently in the spotlight for making a controversial statement. In one of Iis's IG Story posts, the 21-year-old girl mentioned that she is not interested in watching Indian movies because she believes Koreans are 'cleaner'.

"No, I prefer watching Korean [movies]. They are more pleasant to watch, and their people are cleaner," Salsha replied when Iis recommended an Indian film.

This statement by Salsha has angered many parties. Even one of the fanbase accounts of Indian actress Kareena Kapoor expressed their anger upon hearing Salsha's statement.

Not wanting this issue to drag on, Iis finally spoke up. When invited as a guest star on the show RUMPI, the 47-year-old singer explained that many people misunderstood her daughter's statement.

"She (Salsha) didn't know about my Insta Story. So the story in the movie is about prostitution, very dirty, very filthy. She said, 'Oh no, very dirty'. The place indeed is very dirty. So it's not about talking about the Indian people, but talking about the content of the story," Iis explained to the host, Feny Rose.

"Watch the Indian movie, titled TAALASH, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor. I really love Bollywood," she added.

Meanwhile, Salsha herself has apologized for her statement. She made a clarification through her personal Instagram account and admitted her mistake.

"I have supported racial diversity since I was an exchange student in high school. My words are not something that can be easily forgiven and I feel like a hypocrite," Salsha wrote in English on her IG Story post.

"I wasn't aware that I was being recorded, but that's not an excuse for what I said. I sincerely apologize for my mistake and I hope I can learn from this incident," she concluded.
