Denny Sumargo Quietly Reports Farhat Abbas Over Alleged Threats

Accompanied by his lawyers, Mochamad Anwar and Sogi Bagaskara, Denny attended the summons for the report of alleged threats that they filed against Farhat Abbas. This report is known to have been submitted quietly without much publicity.

"I was called today to make a BAP regarding the report submitted by my lawyer. So that's the gist of it," said Denny at the Metro Jaya Police, Monday (18/11/2024).

According to Mochamad Anwar, the report was actually registered two weeks ago. He added that this legal step was taken calmly without too much public attention.

"Today we are fulfilling our report, not someone else's report. We are being questioned. Now we are in the BAP from 10:30 to 14:00, there are 13 questions, the content is extensive," explained Anwar.

The decision to report Farhat Abbas came after Farhat had previously reported Denny Sumargo to the police. The accusation made by Farhat was discrimination based on ethnicity and race. In response, Anwar stated that their report had actually been planned earlier but could only be realized on the same day.

"Actually, we wanted to report before he reported. But on the same day, we finally reported," he said.

Sogi Bagaskara, another legal counsel, mentioned that the report was supported by strong evidence, including a flash drive containing important data that had been submitted to the investigator.

"Brother FA will be examined. For sure, we are attaching several pieces of evidence of criminal elements," he said.

Denny Sumargo revealed that he actually had no intention of reporting Farhat Abbas from the beginning. He even visited Farhat's residence to defuse the conflict. However, as the situation worsened, he ultimately handed the case over to his legal counsel.

"If I actually consider that issue resolved, right? Peaceful. But then it was prolonged. So initially I thought, 'Where is this person going?'" said Denny.

2. Driven by Lawyers

The push to take legal action comes from Denny's legal team. They feel that the threats received by their client cannot be ignored.

"It turns out I was contacted by my lawyer, 'Den, this can’t go on because this person has crossed the line.' I thought, well, that's it, so I gave my power of attorney to them to handle it legally because as a citizen I have rights," he said.

Mochamad Anwar added that this report was made to protect Denny's rights as a citizen.

"We state that this offense meets the elements. We will just report it. Now the investigation is still ongoing," Anwar concluded.
