Edward Akbar has been reported to the authorities by his own wife, Kimberly Ryder, due to allegations of car embezzlement. In relation to this report, on Monday, August 5, 2024, Edward is scheduled to undergo questioning by investigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police.
However, Edward did not attend the summons due to health reasons.

He was only represented by his attorney, Jundri Berutu, to directly convey the rescheduling of the examination.
When met, Jundri explained again regarding the allegations of embezzlement against his client. He stated that the asset (car) was actually bought together, thus his party denies the allegation of embezzlement.
"Actually, that asset was bought together. There is evidence of the joint purchase. So, according to us, there is no embezzlement," said Jundri Berutu when met at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Monday (5/8).
"As far as we know, the (car) is under Kimberly's name, but it was bought during the marriage period and that was a mutual decision," he continued.
In addition, up until now, Edward Akbar's party has not been able to provide further information. This is because they have not yet provided clarification to the investigators.
"We do not want to jump the gun because this is still in the clarification stage, still in the process of clarification, not yet examined as a witness or further examined," he said.
"Therefore, we will wait; after the examination, we will update again," he added.
