Denying Hotma Sitompul's Land Claim, Desiree Tarigan: That Land Belongs to My Mother

Kapanlagi.com - Desiree Tarigan, the mother of Bams, former vocalist of the band Samsons, tells the story of land encroachment by her husband, Hotma Sitompul. She explained that her family has been living in the house that she and Hotma have left for 30 years.

According to Desiree, since then Hotma has asked the older brother of Bams' mother to sell the land. But the land was not sold because it was intended for Desiree and Hotma to live in after they got married.

"30 years ago, my mother owned the land and wanted to marry my father (Hotma), the land next to it belonged to my cousin's older brother. Then Mr. Hotma said, 'sell it, sister, because it would be a pity for Ribu if she doesn't live next door'," said Desiree when met at the South Jakarta Police Station on Monday (3/5).

"My sister said, okay, because Mr. Hotma said it was for me and Desi to live here later. My sister said, okay, if it's for both of you after getting married. There used to be a dividing wall separating my mother's land and my sister's land," she continued.

1. The Wall is Rebuilt

However, instead of living together, the existing dividing wall was destroyed to facilitate communication with his mother, Muliana Tarigan. Moreover, since the turmoil in his marriage with Hotma Sitompul, a long wall was rebuilt without any agreement, covering an area of 195 meters.

"There used to be a dividing wall between my mother's house and my sister's. But after the house was built, that wall was also demolished by Mr. Hotma. Because my mother was alone with my young children at that time. After that, after this incident, the wall was built again. There was no agreement (on the wall)," he explained.

Therefore, Desiree reiterated that the land left by Hotma Sitompul is now her personal land that she has purchased. In the same opportunity, represented by her legal counsel, Muliana Tarigan or Ribu, attempted to reclaim her land that had been built with a dividing wall.

"We are also from Ribu's power. Ribu herself is right in front of me saying this. I don't need money, I just want the land back. That's the mandate," concluded Rendy Ozora, Muliana Tarigan's legal counsel.
