Desta Replaces Abimana Aryasatya in the Latest Warkop DKI Reborn, Here’s Why

A shocking announcement came from the production house Falcon Pictures confirming a major change in the formation of the latest Warkop DKI Reborn film. Actor and presenter Deddy Mahendra Desta has officially been cast to play the legendary character Dono, replacing Abimana Aryasatya who has become iconic with that role in previous films.

This change has certainly raised many questions among fans. Addressing the public's curiosity, Falcon Pictures producer, Frederica, finally spoke up. According to her, the decision was made after Abimana's side expressed his unwillingness to reprise the role of Dono.

"We have actually contacted Abimana. But, it seems he is indeed not willing to reprise the role. It seems so," said Frederica at a press conference at Falcon Pictures' office in South Jakarta on Friday (14/11/2025).

Frederica emphasized that the decision to find a replacement for Abimana is a professional step for the continuity of the Warkop DKI Reborn film project.

The team does not want to delay production and is committed to continuing to present the best work for Warkop DKI fans.

With this new formation, Falcon Pictures is optimistic about bringing a fresh new color while still maintaining the essence of the typical Warkop DKI comedy.

"That's why we are moving on to continue producing Warkop DKI with this new formation," said Frederica.

In this latest film, Desta will act alongside two actors who are already familiar to fans of Warkop DKI Reborn, namely Vino G. Bastian returning as Kasino and Tora Sudiro as Indro.

In addition to the main trio, this film will also feature several other big names in the Indonesian entertainment industry.

Some of them are Dicky Difie, Danny Beler, Marsha Timothy, Asri Welas, and Indy Barends who are sure to add excitement to the film.
