Dewi Gita is Still Crying When Remembering the Endearing Calls from Vidi Aldiano

The departure of Vidi Aldiano left a void in the hearts of his friends. Dewi Gita, the wife of musician Armand Maulana, could not hold back her tears while recounting sweet memories with the late friend. She admitted to still feeling very sad when reminiscing about her friend.

One of the most memorable things for the 56-year-old singer is the special nickname that Vidi had for her. Vidi had a unique and different way of greeting Dewi Gita compared to other musician friends.

"Yes, just remembering. Remembering this and that, for example, seeing a photo, seeing something, I just cry. Last night I was still crying," said Armand regarding his wife's sadness.

Their closeness was forged through a long journey in the entertainment industry. Dewi and Vidi were involved in music and musical drama projects in the early 2000s. That is what made Vidi so special to the mother of Zahwa.

"What makes me cry is that the only one who calls me 'Nyai' is Vidi. In Vidi's generation, everyone calls me 'Teteh'. But at Vidi's age, the average is 'Teteh'. Only Vidi... from afar, 'Nyai!' like that, shouting," reminisced Dewi Gita, sobbing when met in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta, on Monday (09/03/2026).

Vidi's departure due to his battle with terminal cancer has long been known to the public. This is what makes those closest to him, including Dewi Gita, feel a deep sense of loss. They have long provided moral support during the late one's treatment.

"He is also quite sensitive, but he was really close. Vidi with me, with Dewi, was very close," added Armand Maulana regarding his wife's closeness to the deceased.

The condition of the family left behind, including the late wife, Sheila Dara Aisha, has also drawn attention. Although they are in mourning, the family appears to be trying to remain strong.

"Strong, strong, strong... but yes, her eyes are still puffy," explained Armand Maulana describing Sheila Dara's condition. Dewi Gita also hopes that resilience will always accompany the family left behind.

Armand Maulana's wife continues to pray that Vidi finds the best place by His side. The memories of laughter and joy now serve as a comfort for Dewi. She hopes that the happy memories with Vidi can always be kept in her memory forever.
