Donny Alamsyah Feels the Burden of Being Hated by Children and Wife While Playing a Polygamous Man

Kapanlagi.com - Donny Alamsyah's acting skills are tested in starring in a series titled SAJADAH PANJANG. In this series, Donny plays the role of Andhika, who is portrayed as having two wives.

According to Donny, portraying the character of Andhika is very complex, requiring a fundamental understanding and acting skills from his co-star in order to delve into and build the character.

"It's so complicated from the beginning when reading the story. How do I do this? But it's learned gradually, you have to understand the character first, what are the obstacles, and then build chemistry with the other actors. Alhamdulillah, they are very helpful, very real in their ability to delve into this character," said Donny Alamsyah in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/5/2021).

1. Heartache in Every Scene

Donny further stated that although he could play the character Andhika, he felt a heavy burden during filming when the scene where Andhika's children found out that their father had two wives.

"There is a point where these children suddenly change and do not appreciate Andika, I even felt the anger of the children clinging to me. Even at home, it still feels very uncomfortable, like experiencing a scene where the children rebel against their father. And every scene, I feel very hurt. This is what it feels like for a father to be opposed by his children," said Donny.

2. Feel the Burden of Being Hated When Betraying

Not only that, Cut Mini, who is portrayed as his wife, also had a rude attitude towards him on the filming location because she was so immersed in the role of Andhika.

"She (Cut Mini) sometimes accidentally says rude things to me, sometimes she says 'forgive me, I'm just not really into you'," said Donny Alamsyah.

Through portraying the character of Andhika, Donny, who in real life has one wife and one child, felt what it's like to be hated when betraying love.

"I finally thought, Oh, this is what it feels like to be a husband who has made a big mistake with his family," said Donny.

SAJADAH PANJANG exclusively airs on MAXstream every Monday and Thursday starting from May 6, 2021. In addition to Donny Alamsyah and Cut Mini, this series also stars young actors such as Arbani Yasiz, Hasyakyla Utami, Raffi Sanjaya, Annisa Kaila, Ence Bagus, and Kiky Saputri.
