Eight Years as a MotoGP Host, Angie Ang Shares the Excitement of Talking with World-Class Racers

Kapanlagi.com - Angie Ang may be better known to the public as a sports program host, especially in motorcycle racing. As the MotoGP host for eight years, Angie Ang has gathered many interesting stories and memorable experiences.

One of the moments she remembers most happened recently when she had the opportunity to chat with Aleix Espargaro, who is better known as 'Pak RT' among MotoGP fans.

"The last time, I had a memorable experience with Aleix Espargaro because this year he is retiring. Although he might not retire 100%, if you are really into MotoGP, you definitely know Pak RT's mood," said Angie Ang at Plaza Indonesia, Thursday (17/10/2024).

According to Angie, Aleix is one of the racers who always makes interview moments more lively.

"It's really hard to predict, but yesterday I had content with him where he was laughing out loud from the beginning of the interview until the end. He is very proud to be called Pak RT, he is very proud that his wife is called Bu RT," she said.

2. Close to the Racers

Although she has been involved in the MotoGP world for eight years, Angie still feels personally connected to the riders, especially behind the camera.

"But when it comes to getting close to the riders, it's nice; it happens because we support each other professionally behind the scenes," she said.

"Behind the camera, there is a special closeness that makes it more intimate, you know, it feels different if we don't know each other at all, compared to when we already know each other personally among everyone," she added.

3. Maverick Vinales Like a Best Friend

Angie also revealed that one of the riders who feels like a 'best friend' to her is Maverick Vinales. When they were in Mandalika, their conversations often shifted to more personal topics, such as music tastes or food on "cheating day."

"Maverick Vinales chatted so it felt like we were behind the camera when we were in Mandalika, so we talked more like, 'Hey, what music do you like? If it were cheating day, what would you eat?' It was all personal stuff, and then we could throw jokes around and so on," she said.

4. Memorable Experience with Marc Marquez

Besides Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales, Angie also mentioned her memorable experience with Marc Marquez. Although she hasn't had the chance to meet Marc recently, Angie still holds many interesting memories from previous interviews.

"For example, like the interview with Marc Marquez and everything, and yesterday we didn't meet again, well, as usual, behind the camera we also chatted, just chatting, the rest was professional. Afraid? No way, that's just professional. As for dreams of finding a soulmate or whatever, the crescent moon hasn't appeared yet," she concluded.
