The life of legendary songwriter and singer Hamdan ATT in his old age is not as beautiful as imagined. In the midst of his advancing age, and still undergoing treatment after a blood vessel operation, Hamdan ATT has to rely on the help of his children who are already working to meet his needs.
Moreover, the income from music that used to be his mainstay is also dwindling, especially since Hamdan suffered a stroke in 2020. Since then, Hamdan ATT has had to undergo treatment using health insurance because he is unable to finance his own treatment.
"Alhamdulillah, there are always those who help. Because if we rely on royalties, it’s not possible; what we get is very little," said Hasibah, Hamdan ATT's wife, when met at the RS Polri recently.
Hasibah also explained that her husband has registered around 100 songs that he created and sang during his career in the music industry. Hamdan ATT's songs are registered with PAPPRI (Indonesian Union of Artist Singers Songwriters and Record Music Arrangers) as a singer.
Meanwhile, the royalties for his creations are registered with Royalti Anugerah Indonesia (RAI) managed by PAMMI (Indonesian Union of Malay Dangdut Artists) under the leadership of Rhoma Irama.
