Happy news comes from the young couple Syifa Hadju and El Rumi, who have just officially gotten engaged. In the midst of this excitement, actress Deswita Maharani, who is considered like a mother to Syifa, shared a touching moment when she first learned about the happy news.

When met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta on Monday (06/10/2025), Deswita recounted the moments when she received a video call from Syifa, who was then in Switzerland. Initially, she did not suspect anything and just asked when Syifa would be coming home.

"I'm on my way home, in the evening, suddenly, 'Sister video call.' I remembered, 'Why is she video calling all of a sudden?'" reminisced Deswita.

The casual conversation slowly turned into a moment full of signals as Syifa began to showcase the sparkling sunset, which turned out to be the sparkle from the diamond ring on her finger.

"'It's so sparkling, right, Mom, the sun?' like that. I immediately went, 'Wow!' like that. I burst into tears right away," continued Ferry Maryadi's wife.

She couldn't hold back her tears of joy seeing 'her child' being proposed to by the man of her choice. That touching moment even made Syifa have to comfort Deswita. "Then she said, 'Don't cry, don't cry,' like that," she said.

According to Deswita, Syifa herself has already gone through a moment of emotional tears with El Rumi and their respective immediate families.

"It seems that when I called her, she was already not in a crying condition. I mean, the emotional part, the happiness, the tears were already flowing when she was with El, it seems," she explained.

Deswita also expressed her happiness and prayed that all the processes leading up to the big day would go smoothly. She admitted she hasn't seen the ring in person because Syifa hasn't returned to Jakarta.
