Ozil's arrival was greeted with enthusiasm from the residents of the capital who were also going to perform Friday prayers. Ozil was seen arriving at Istiqlal Mosque around 11:35 AM.
To avoid unwanted incidents, the German footballer also received tight security escort from the officials. It was also seen that the Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, Nasaruddin Umar, accompanied Ozil entering the mosque area.
Ozil, who was wearing a black shirt complete with a kufi, was immediately swarmed by his heavy fans. Even the officials had trouble giving way for the legend.

Ozil did not give any comments regarding the enthusiasm of the people in welcoming him. However, he did throw a slight smile to his fans before entering the mosque area.
Not only that, Ozil also took a photo with Nasaruddin in front of the bedug of Istiqlal Mosque. Mezut Ozil's visit to Indonesia is known to celebrate his collaboration with one of the sports equipment brands from England, Concave, which is located in Cikupa, Tangerang, Banten.

After performing Friday prayers, Ozil gave a speech to all the congregation. Unfortunately, due to the extraordinary enthusiasm, chaos could not be avoided.
Even when he wanted to leave, Ozil could not get out of the room because of the crowded fans filling the door of the room where he was. Fortunately, the crowd could be calmed down and Ozil hurriedly entered the car leaving the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta.
