Era Lolita Remembers Gary Iskak, Remains Friendly Despite Being Sick

The film LASTRI: ARWAH KEMBANG DESA became an unforgettable experience for Era Lolita. Not only because it marked her debut in a feature film after a long time starring in TV movies, but also because she had the opportunity to share the screen with the late Gary Iskak. For Era, Gary left a warm impression that she still remembers to this day.

In the film directed by Henry Ismono, Era plays the character Indri, a film crew member who becomes possessed by the spirit of Lastri. Although her role is not very long, the actress still had to go through the casting process before finally being selected to join the other cast members.

Era said the opportunity to act in LASTRI: ARWAH KEMBANG DESA began with an invitation from Audy Bella, who opened the audition process. Even though they already knew each other, she still went through all the selection stages like other participants.

"So initially, Kak Audi Belle is my friend, and then she had an open casting. We still went through the casting route, even though we are friends. Luckily, I got the role of Indri. The story is about a team shooting a film in Lastri's house, and I play a film crew member who then becomes possessed by the spirit of Lastri herself," said Era Lolita when met at XXI Epicentrum, Thursday (9/7).

Behind the shooting process that took place in Lumajang, Era also brought home precious memories with Gary Iskak. According to him, the senior actor always managed to lighten the mood on set even when his condition was declining.

Era revealed that Gary continued to show kindness to all the cast members. In fact, he never displayed the pain he was experiencing even though he had to be accompanied by his son, Nando, who always carried an oxygen tank during the shooting process.

"Bang Gary always makes us smile. He is a senior but always wants to greet us newcomers. He is very caring and fun to talk to. At that time, he was actually sick, with his son, Nando, taking care of him and bringing the oxygen tank. But Bang Gary remained friendly to everyone, he didn't think about his own sickness," reminisced Era.

The opportunity to act in LASTRI: ARWAH KEMBANG DESA also opens a new path in Era Lolita's career. Until now, she has often appeared in FTV playing antagonistic characters, so acting in a feature film has been a different experience that she wants to continue pursuing.

Because of that, Era hopes to be trusted to star in the next film. If given the chance to choose, she wants to step out of her comfort zone and explore the drama genre, which she feels is closer to her personal character. "I want to do another film, please pray for me. As for the genre, I would prefer drama because it feels more 'me'," she said.
