Chinese actor Jin Ze passed away at the age of 33. This sad news was confirmed by his agency, Shengshi Guangnian Culture Co., Ltd., through an official statement released on Saturday (6/6).
In the statement, the agency revealed that Jin Ze, whose real name was Zhang Jiawei, passed away at his residence in Hangzhou on Thursday (4/6). As of now, the cause of death has not been announced to the public.
"With deep sadness, we announce that our actor, Jin Ze (Zhang Jiawei), has passed away at his home in Hangzhou on June 4, 2026," wrote the agency.
The agency also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and requested the public not to spread unverified information. They urged the public to respect the privacy of the grieving family and not to disturb the funeral process.
Before the official announcement was released, news of Jin Ze's passing had already circulated widely on Chinese social media. The topic even became a hot discussion and made it to the trending search list.
Jin Ze was born in Weihai, Shandong Province, on January 30, 1993. He graduated from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and began his career in the entertainment industry as a model before transitioning to acting.
Throughout his career, Jin Ze starred in several television dramas. His name became increasingly recognized in recent years thanks to his roles in various micro-dramas and popular short series in China.
One of his latest projects titled "Waiting for the Flowers to Bloom, Waiting for Your Return" received a great response from the audience. Before this sad news emerged, the drama had recorded over 1.48 million reservations on the Hongguo Short Drama platform.
