The post-divorce conflict between Sarwendah and Ruben Onsu has now entered a new chapter following the emergence of a controversial video with harsh words that led to an apology from Sarwendah. Sarwendah Tan conveyed this apology through her personal social media on Friday, June 5, 2026.

Minola Sebayang, the legal representative of Ruben Onsu, responded regarding the circulating clarification video. He emphasized that Ruben's side could not comment much because the apology was not directed at his client.

"So all the material presented by S in that post, we see it has nothing to do with our client, Ruben Onsu," said Minola Sebayang during a conversation with media personnel via Zoom, Friday (6/5/2026).

Ruben's side believes that the apology request from the 36-year-old woman is only directed to the general public. This is considered not to resolve the core issue that has hurt his client's dignity.

"Because there is not a single sentence that states an apology to Ruben Onsu for what has happened, which means it was implied, with words like 'cong' for example, then with the words '200 million'," Minola continued.

"But there is not a single sentence of apology to the person whose heart has been hurt, whose dignity has been tarnished in public. So from our perspective, it's perfectly fine, feel free for S to upload or post a video asking for forgiveness, but it has nothing to do with our client Ruben Onsu," said Minola Sebayang.

Although many netizens speculate that Sarwendah's harsh words were directed at her ex-husband, Ruben Onsu, Ruben's legal representative explained his opinion.

"Well, but there wasn't a single statement we heard in that post that apologized to Ruben Onsu, who is the father of her children," he concluded.

The controversial video upload by Sarwendah is believed to have originated from a dispute over child support and custody rights that has been widely discussed. Now her apology has instead triggered calls to boycott the products she promotes.
