Karina Ranau Reveals Reasons for Frequently Posting at Epy Kusnandar's Grave

Karina Ranau finally speaks out about the reasons she often uploads videos at her late husband Epy Kusnandar's grave. She responds to accusations from netizens claiming she is merely seeking profit or "content" in the midst of mourning.

Karina emphasizes that each of her posts is part of a self-therapy to strengthen herself. For her, capturing moments at the grave is a promise she holds dear to continue remembering her late husband.

"Yes, that can be allowed, there is no law, no one prohibits it. Unless I am bothering someone else whose family prohibits it. Now, for me, because I believe this is a way of treatment for myself especially, my personal self as a treatment to strengthen me," said Karina Ranau when met in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta, Thursday (14/05/2026).

She also strongly denied being accused of seeking material from those videos. Karina explained that she does not have a YouTube channel that earns money from grief content, but rather purely personal documentation that is shared.

"I am not seeking profit from my content at the graves. I don't have a YouTube channel, I don't have anything that earns money from it, there is none. Or when I am at the grave, there are no hidden endorsements or anything like that, none of that is there," said Karina.

The activity of editing videos of her late husband is something she often does during her breaks at work in the stall. For her, revisiting moments together with the deceased is the most effective remedy for fatigue.

"Maybe when I'm tired coming home from the stall, when I'm resting at home after praying, I lie down while watching content, it's like healing myself. Yes, that's part of my heart's remedy, I edit it myself from morning until I leave the stall," she explained.

However, this documentation hobby was marred by negative comments from netizens who said "die" to the deceased. This prompted Karina to take legal action and report the account to the police.

"I really ask the police, maybe for this person it's trivial or just ordinary, but it is very painful for us. I don't know, I just don't know. But it's up to him whether he wants to seek attention or whatever, but those words that include 'mampus mampus dia sudah mati' (he's dead, dead) feel how, really," concluded Karina.
