The passing of the legendary singer Dina Mariana has left a deep wound for her family. Ezra Mandira, the late singer's son and a former member of the band Hivi, could not hold back his tears while escorting his mother to her final resting place at TPU Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta.

“Yes, as a mother there are bound to be moments of anger, but generally, mom was a good mother. I can say she was a good mother, kind to her children, kind to her husband, kind to her family, and kind to her friends,” said Ezra on Monday (4/11/2024).
Ezra admitted that his mother was not only an important figure in the family but also his inspiration in the world of music. "Mom may not have specifically taught me directly about music, but she is my inspiration in making music," he added.
As the saying goes, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree," Ezra feels that his love for music is an inheritance from his mother. Although they took different paths, with his mother being a solo singer while Ezra is more active in a band, their love for music remains a common bond.
Ezra reminisced about many moments with the late Dina, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although Dina was in poor health, the family was still able to spend time together more frequently.
“During the covid period, we often met at home. Even though my mother was sick, we always tried to be close. Alhamdulillah, the family had a lot of time with my mother,” he said.
For Ezra, those moments together became precious memories that he will always cherish. The warmth during difficult times, he said, further strengthened his bond with his mother.
Now, as a son, Ezra can only pray for the best for his late mother. He hopes that his mother finds the most beautiful place by God's side. “My hope is that she is forgiven for all her mistakes, and may her prayers be the best. Please pray for her, and forgive her if there were any mistakes towards the media friends,” Ezra said with deep emotion.
The loss of Dina Mariana is a huge blow for the family, but the legacy of kindness and love she left behind will always live in their hearts. Ezra also hopes that the prayers from relatives and fans can accompany his mother's departure in peace.
